Why Use Cloth Nappies?
Cloth is the most natural form of nappy that you can use for your baby and is by far more environmentally sound. Bamboo nappies are softer and safer against babies skin and they have come a long way since the days of terry squares, boiling and folding. Our bamboo nappies are a super slim-line shape and use velcro fastenings so are as easy to use as disposables.........you won't look back!
Nearly 3 billion disposable nappies are thrown away in the UK every year, 90% of which end up in landfill (nearly 8 million every day!) Landfill space is running out and disposable nappies may take hundreds of years to decompose, so they will be possibly be around when your grandchildrens children are adults and beyond!!!!
By using cloth you are helping to change the future for our children and our world. If this is not reason enough......you will save money by using cloth.

How Many Nappies will I need?
This will depend on your baby......how much they drink throughout the day and also their age. In any 24 hour period, you will probably need around 10 nappies for a newborn and around 5 nappies for a toddler including a night-time nappy. It also depends on how often you plan on washing your nappies.
It is by far a good idea to try a small amount of nappies to start with and see how you get on with them, how they fit and work with your baby, as each baby is individual.

What else is required?
Along with your nappies, you will need a waterproof cover, which is a breathable waterproof fabric, either cotton or polyester. You will need 4-5 wraps for each stage of nappies.
Liners are a must inside your baby's nappy to help keep their little bottoms dry and comfortable. Either re-usable fleece liners or paper liners. The advantage of fleece liners is that they can be re-used again and again. They also wick moisture completely away from baby's skin, keeping them nice and dry and comfortable and less likely to suffer from nappy rash. They work well with babies with sensitive skin too.
You will also need either re-usable wipes or disposable ones. A nappy bucket to contain all of your soiled nappies, wraps and liners. There is no need to soak nappies, but you can put in a couple of drops of tea-tree essential oil if preferred.

Care for your EccoBots Nappies
Your nappies, wraps and liners can either be washed at 60 degrees or 40 degrees which is perfectly hygienic and more environmentally sound. They can be tumble dried, although it is more sound to line dry and give them a rub to enhance their softness. Non-Bio powders and liquids are best for babies as their skin may be sensitive.
It is worth noting that your Ecco Bots will benefit from a number of pre-washes before use, this will help fluff up the Bamboo and increase their absorbency, but if you just can't wait to put them on your little ones, just be aware that they will not be at their fullest absorbency until around the 6th-8th wash.
Wash your fleece liners separately for the first 2-3 washes to prevent colour running into the nappies, but after that all colours should be fine washed in the same cycle.
